Do you have a desire to pursue creative writing? Perhaps there’s a story stuck in your head, a character (real or fictional) you often think of, or a wish to capture real life experiences of family, travel, love, triumphs, and loss?
You could find yourself at a stage in life where you have more time to pursue your interests, whereas some of you may want or need help with written skills to enhance confidence as well as optimise potential opportunities in the workplace. Others enrol to meet people, create a fictional realm, evoke the power of the pen, or simply record stories they have gathered along the way. You might even want to produce a complete piece as a gift for yourself or another.
Many sign up to pursue a worthwhile hobby or out of curiosity, and others to provide a bit of me-time as an escape from a busy working or family life. There are those immersed in the educational sphere (as either student or teacher) who want to refresh, challenge, or jazz up their written skills. Or you simply wish to benefit from the rewards and wellbeing that writing for pleasure can give.
People I work with include those who enjoyed writing in their earlier days but commitments got in the way, along with others who didn’t really like the connected schooling or thrive in that environment but perhaps have a love of poetry, Fantasy, cosy crime or the theatre. I can help reawaken and renew a love and respect of the written word and related craft.

Who I am
About KIMBERLEY
I believe that the learning environment should be enjoyable and supportive as well as structured and suitably challenging. The aim is that every single attendee leaves any of my workshops more knowledgeable, confident, and skilled, and I take pride in the fact that we achieve this but also have fun along the way.
Part of being an effective tutor is to create a safe and open environment where people can explore through writing, experimenting with their creative ideas and written offerings. I give instant feedback after every piece is shared, then gently encourage relevant peer involvement in the critique and advice. Learning and writing should be pleasurable undertakings, and establishing the right atmosphere is key, including where different perspectives, styles and topics are welcome.
I am a perceptive educator who knows that having an admirable command of language and set of communication skills can make for a most rewarding, interesting life. My wealth of expertise combines with a genuine passion for words and stories, both fictional and real. I have an appreciation for the written form and helping others to express themselves artfully; furthermore, my career experience confirms that creative writing can be beneficial for wellbeing, and I’m privileged to see this firsthand.
